Srinagar: Senior Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) leader and Member of Parliament Mian Altaf Ahmad Larvi on Sunday slammed the government for failing to launch recruitment drives, saying thousands of educated youth with multiple degrees are losing hope due to prolonged joblessness.
Speaking at the 4th Halla Bolle Conclave at the Radisson Collection in Srinagar, Larvi said the administration has not initiated any major recruitment process despite repeated promises made during elections.
“Youth in Jammu and Kashmir are deeply disappointed. Many among them hold PhD, postgraduate, and graduate degrees, yet no recruitment has been started so far. The process should have begun from day one, with advertisements sent to recruitment agencies for the welfare of our youth,” he said.
Larvi emphasized that it is the responsibility of elected representatives to raise the concerns of the people who entrusted them with power. “We were chosen by the people, and it is our duty to fight for their rights,” he asserted.
Responding to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s recent remarks on smart meter installation, Larvi remarked, “It would be better for Omar Sahib to speak with thoughtfulness and understanding.”
