Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma on Saturday reviewed the anti-infiltration grid along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir to assess the security preparedness ahead of winter. During the visit, he interacted with field commanders and troops deployed in the forward areas, taking a detailed briefing on the operational readiness and counter-infiltration measures currently in place.

Officials said Lt Gen Sharma commended the soldiers for their vigilance and continued efforts in maintaining the sanctity of the LoC despite challenging terrain and harsh weather conditions. He stressed the need for maintaining a high level of alertness, especially as infiltration attempts traditionally increase before heavy snowfall shuts down mountain passes.

The Army Commander also reviewed the deployment pattern, surveillance equipment, and latest technological tools being used to monitor the LoC. He emphasized seamless coordination between various security agencies to ensure a robust and foolproof anti-infiltration grid.

The visit, officials added, reflects the Army’s commitment to strengthening border security and preventing any attempts by hostile elements to disturb peace in the region.
