Jammu: In view of rising passenger demand and to ensure hassle-free travel, Northern Railway has extended the operation of the special Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–Banihal–Katra train for four additional days in the Jammu Division.

“This service has turned out to be a more convenient option for travelers compared to road transport,” an official said. The extension will remain in effect from October 3 to 7.

The decision was taken by Divisional Railway Manager Vivek Kumar, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal, and Senior Divisional Operations Manager Arish Bansal, considering the festive-season rush.

The timetable and stoppages of Train No. 04688/04687 will remain unchanged. Passengers have been advised to check the Indian Railways website or call the enquiry helpline 139 for travel-related updates, said Uchit Singhal.
