Jammu: The Northern Railway’s Jammu Division has announced the cancellation of the phased resumption of train services due to heavy rainfall in the region on Monday.
According to officials, the fifth phase of service restoration was planned to normalise rail traffic in the Jammu Division ahead of the festive season. This phase included the reintroduction of several key trains.
The following trains are now scheduled to resume operations on the specified dates:
Jammu Tawi–New Delhi: October 16, 2025
Jammu Tawi–Pune: October 17, 2025
Jammu Tawi–Tatanagar: October 18, 2025
Jammu Tawi–Nanded: October 19, 2025
Jammu Tawi–Sambalpur: October 19, 2025
Pathankot–Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan: October 15, 2025
Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan–Pathankot: October 15, 2025
However, some trains will operate with curtailed routes.
The Jammu Tawi–Bandra Terminus train will be short-terminated at Ludhiana,
The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra–Sabarmati BG train at Amritsar,
The Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan–Kota train will start from Ludhiana,
The Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan–Indore train from Jalandhar Cantt, and
The Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan–Durg train from Ambala Cantt.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal said that restoration work on damaged tracks, bridges, and other infrastructure is underway.
“Following this disaster, we are working on a war footing to repair the affected rail infrastructure. Our goal is to fully restore all train services as soon as possible, ensuring minimal inconvenience to passengers. We appreciate their patience and cooperation,” he stated.
