Jammu: Police on Friday detained a man accused of involvement in various criminal activities, including cattle theft and drug-related offences under the NDPS Act, under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act (PSA), officials said.
The accused, identified as Shamma, a resident of Marh tehsil, was apprehended from the Kanachak area in Jammu district following his detention order under the PSA, they added.
Police described Shamma as a notorious criminal, noting that multiple FIRs have been registered against him in several police stations.
According to police, four PSA warrants have been executed against cattle smugglers and one against a drug trafficker so far this year.
