Poonch, Dec 02: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited Poonch today to offer condolences to MLA Poonch, Aijaz Jan, on the demise of his father. The visit was marked by a gathering of party workers, local residents, and senior leaders of the National Conference.
Omar Abdullah was accompanied by Provincial President Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta, and District President Poonch, Syed Mushtaq Bukhari. The leaders expressed solidarity with Aijaz Jan and his family, assuring them of full support during this difficult time.
Speaking on the occasion, Omar Abdullah said, “We stand with Aijaz Jan and his family in their hour of grief. The loss of a parent is irreplaceable, and we pray for strength and peace for the bereaved family.”
MLA Aijaz Jan thanked Omar Abdullah and the party leadership for their visit and support. He noted that the presence of senior leaders had provided comfort to his family and constituents who had gathered to pay their respects.
Local residents, including community representatives such as Mohammad Bashir and Abdul Karim, also joined the condolence meet, highlighting the close bond between the Jan family and the people of Poonch.
The National Conference leaders later visited the residence of Aijaz Jan, where they offered prayers and extended condolences to other family members present.
