OnePlus 15 Expected With Bold Design Shift and Major Camera Overhaul

OnePlus is skipping the “14” and gearing up to launch the OnePlus 15 later this year. Early leaks suggest big changes are on the way for the company’s next flagship, marking a step beyond its usual Oppo-linked strategy.

The OnePlus 13 successor is tipped to feature a refreshed design—long overdue by many accounts. Leaked images reveal a new square-shaped camera module, along with a flatter frame reminiscent of the OnePlus 9 and 10 series. Reports also indicate the return of silicon carbon battery tech, potentially packing a massive 7,000mAh+ cell.

But the real shake-up could be in the cameras. OnePlus is reportedly developing its own imaging engine, signaling a move away from its Hasselblad partnership (now expected to remain with Oppo). If successful, the new setup could bring improvements on par with what Zeiss has done for Vivo or Leica for Xiaomi—enhancing low-light performance and refining color science.

Powering the phone is likely Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip, set to debut this month. Combined with the new imaging technology, the OnePlus 15 could finally deliver a flagship experience with both cutting-edge hardware and camera performance.

OnePlus has long impressed with design and performance, but its cameras have often lagged behind rivals. Developing its own solution may finally allow the brand to balance strong hardware with equally refined software.
