Manesar (Haryana): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said that Operation Sindoor led to the destruction of terrorist headquarters, training camps, and launchpads across Pakistan.

Speaking at the 41st Raising Day ceremony of the National Security Guard (NSG) at its headquarters in Manesar, Shah also announced that a new NSG hub — the sixth in the country — will soon be established in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

“Operation Sindoor has ensured the devastation of Pakistani terror headquarters, their training centres, and launchpads,” Shah stated.

The operation, conducted in May, saw Indian defence forces strike terror infrastructure and key military installations in Pakistan, in response to the April 22 Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir that claimed 26 lives.

The NSG, a federal contingency force under the Union Home Ministry, was formed in 1984. Its elite ‘Black Cat’ commandos specialize in counter-terrorism and anti-hijacking operations, and also provide security to high-risk dignitaries. The force currently operates five hubs located in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Gandhinagar.
