New Delhi: The Congress party today criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the sharp decline in the value of the Indian rupee, describing it as a matter of concern for the country’s economy. Party leaders alleged that government policies have contributed to the currency’s ‘free fall’ and urged the administration to take immediate corrective measures.

In a statement, the Congress highlighted the impact of the weakening rupee on imports, inflation, and the overall economic stability, stressing that ordinary citizens and businesses are bearing the brunt of the currency’s slide. The party called for transparency in policy decisions and proactive steps to stabilize the financial situation.

Congress leaders further stated that the government must prioritize economic reforms, investor confidence, and strategic interventions to prevent further erosion of the rupee’s value. The party also urged the central bank to closely monitor the situation and act decisively to protect the national interest.
