Akhnoor: In a heartfelt initiative to honour the sacrifice and service of the families of India’s brave soldiers, the Indian Army organized an interactive session “Veerangna Milan” — for Veer Naris and War Widows on 11 July 2025 at Akhnoor, Jammu.
The session aimed to enlighten Veer Naris and War Widows about various grants and emoluments available to them. A series of informative lectures were delivered by Col (Retd) Manjit Singh Bhau from the Zila Sainik Board, Akhnoor, Mr Parvinder Singh from Prahari and Maj Rohit Khadka from Indian Army. These lectures not only broadened the participant’s awareness but also assisted them in understanding the procedures and documentation required to avail specific grants.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the Veer Naris and War Widows. A Help Desk was also set up during the session to address their grievances and provide on-the-spot assistance. To conclude the day, participants visited the Akhnoor Heritage Museum, paying tribute to the sacrifices of our Bravehearts. Such initiatives foster a deep sense of solidarity and ensure that the stories of these courageous women are heard, honoured, and remembered.
The event served as a moving tribute to the resilience of the human spirit and reaffirmed that the Indian Army stands firmly with its heroes and the families they leave behind.
