Organized an Awareness Programme for Ex-Servicemen, Widows and Veer Naris at Badyala Chak, Akhnoor

Akhnoor: The Indian Army organized a comprehensive awareness programme at Government Middle School, Badyala Chak, focusing on the entitlements and welfare benefits for Ex-Servicemen (ESM), Widows, and Veer Naris. The primary objective of the event was to inform attendees about various post-retirement benefits available to them.

The informative session covered a wide array of post-retirement benefits, including Extended Insurance, reimbursement of Children Education Allowance and the enhancement of additional pensions upon reaching the prescribed age. Additionally, the programme highlighted Penury Grants for non-pensioners up to the Havildar rank, employment assistance on compassionate grounds in the case of fatal incidents, marriage grants for daughters, and a one-time computer grant.

The Jammu & Kashmir Special Scholarship Scheme was also explained to ensure that all the concerned individuals are aware of the opportunities available. The event was further enriched by a lively and informal interaction over tea and snacks, where Veer Naris, Widows, and Ex-Servicemen had the chance to engage with the Army personnel. A total of 02 Veer Naris/Widows, 41 Ex-Servicemen, and 08 children attended the session, making it a successful initiative for raising awareness about vital benefits and support systems for our brave soldiers and their families. The Indian Army remains committed to the well-being of its veterans and their families, continually striving to ensure they are equipped with the necessary knowledge of their entitlements.
