Poonch: The Indian Army conducted an “Interaction with Gujjar & Bakkarwal” event across all villages on 12 July 2025. In continuance of its zeal to achieve greater heights in coordination with the local population, the Indian Army has always been at the forefront of maintaining cordial civil-military relations. During the interaction, various issues concerning education, health and socio-economic development were discussed. The event provided an opportunity for the Army to address the community’s concerns and explore avenues for future cooperation and support.
This engagement was part of Operation Sadbhavana, which aims to promote peace, development and goodwill in the region. The initiative underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to the welfare of all communities, especially those in remote and underserved areas. Community members expressed their gratitude for the Army’s efforts and appreciated the continuous support extended to them. The event witnessed the participation of 72 community members and aimed to foster stronger ties and mutual understanding between the Indian Army and these communities.
