The annual Chardham Yatra in Uttarakhand has witnessed a record turnout this year, drawing over 51 lakh pilgrims to the sacred shrines. Officials confirmed that Kedarnath has led in footfall among the four pilgrimage sites, underscoring its enduring spiritual significance.
According to the state government, the pilgrimage season has seen unprecedented participation, with devotees thronging the shrines of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. Kedarnath alone accounted for the highest number of visitors, reflecting its central place in the spiritual journey.
Authorities highlighted that improved infrastructure, enhanced facilities, and coordinated management have contributed to the smooth conduct of the Yatra. Emergency services, medical aid, and security arrangements were deployed extensively to ensure the safety and comfort of pilgrims.
