Lahore: Pakistan on Wednesday extended its airspace ban on Indian aircraft until September 23.
The Pakistan Airports Authority issued a new NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) confirming the one-month continuation of restrictions on Indian flights over Pakistani airspace.
“All Indian airline aircraft are prohibited from using Pakistani airspace. The ban also applies to both civilian and military planes that are Indian-owned or leased,” the authority stated.
The restriction was first imposed on April 23 for one month following heightened tensions between the two countries after the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
This initially prevented Indian carriers from flying over Pakistan, and on April 30, India responded by closing its airspace to Pakistani aircraft. The reciprocal restrictions were previously extended on May 23.
