Samba/Jammu: Security forces on Saturday launched a search operation after a Pakistani drone was spotted hovering over a forward village along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district, officials said.
The drone-like object was observed entering from the Pakistani side and flying over Nanga village in the Ramgarh sector late Friday, triggering an alert in the border belt.
Officials said police and security teams were swiftly deployed to scan the area and rule out any possible airdrop of contraband or weapons from across the border.
The search operation was still underway at the time of the latest reports, while security has been tightened in adjoining villages as a precaution.
