RAJOURI: Government Post Graduate College Rajouri organized a solemn and inspiring valedictory function to mark the conclusion of Sewa Parv, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti. The event was conducted in a blended format, encouraging active participation from both staff and students.
The programme began with a warm welcome address by Prof. Murtaza Ahmed, followed by a heartfelt tribute to Mahatma Gandhi delivered by Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza, Principal of the College. He reflected on Gandhi Ji’s timeless ideals of truth, non-violence, and simplicity.
Prof. Khaleeq Ahmed, Nodal Officer of Sewa Parv, presented the Keynote Address, highlighting the series of activities carried out from 27th September to 2nd October. These included campus cleanliness drives, Nasha Mukt Bharat awareness campaigns, debates, seminars, quizzes on Gandhi’s life and philosophy, blood donation camps, financial aid initiatives for the underprivileged, and an informative workshop on women’s health and hygiene.
The College Principal also invited feedback from various departments, clubs, and committees that organized and coordinated these activities, acknowledging their vital role in the success of the week-long celebrations.
All participants then took the Swachhta Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to cleanliness, social responsibility, and community service, both online and offline.
The College extended special thanks to the Health Department, Social Welfare Department, Rajouri Municipal Council, and particularly the District Administration under Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma for their invaluable support in making the event a success.
The programme concluded with a gracious Vote of Thanks by Dr. Zakir Hussain Kalis, Convener of the Cultural and Literary Committee, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to faculty members, students, and dignitaries for making the event meaningful and impactful.
