Hosur: Yuvraj Sandhu of Chandigarh carded a second-round 67 (-4) to extend his lead to two shots at the Rs. 1 crore Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) Players Championship 2025, held at Clover Greens Golf Course & Resort near Hosur, Tamil Nadu.
The PGTI Order of Merit leader and last week’s champion, Yuvraj (63-67), who led overnight by one shot, moved to 12-under 130 at the halfway stage, according to a PGTI press release.
Olympian and Pune golfer Udayan Mane (67-65) posted the day’s lowest score of 65, climbing eight spots to tie for second at 10-under 132. Nepal’s Subash Tamang (64-68) remained tied for second after shooting 68 in round two. The cut was set at 1-over 143, with 57 professionals and one amateur making it through.
Teenager Veer Ganapathy from Bengaluru was the sole amateur to make the cut, tied 21st at 3-under 139.
Yuvraj, a three-time winner on the PGTI this season, had a mixed front nine with three birdies offset by three bogeys. He bounced back on the back nine, posting four birdies to surge ahead. Sandhu also showcased precise wedge play and notably drove the green on the Par-4 15th, setting up a two-putt birdie.
“I had a late finish in round one, and the travel back to my hotel took a lot of time. I didn’t sleep well last night, which affected my body, so I wasn’t at my physical best today. My start was slower than expected, but I’m happy I held on and managed a decent score,” Yuvraj said in a PGTI press release.
Udayan Mane made a significant move on day two, recording an eagle and seven birdies against three bogeys. He narrowly missed a hole-in-one on the 14th, with his tee shot stopping just an inch from the hole. Mane also drove the green on the 15th for an eagle-two and on the 13th for a birdie.
Subash Tamang, the 2023 All India Amateur champion, was tied second alongside Mane. Tamang, in search of his first professional title, carded six birdies against three bogeys.
