Pistols and Weapons Seized in Domana Crackdown

Jammu, Dec 02: Jammu (Rural) Police have arrested two notorious criminals in separate incidents under the jurisdiction of Police Station Domana, recovering three country-made pistols, live/fired cartridges, and a sharp-edged weapon as part of their ongoing crackdown against crime.

Firing Incident at Grand Reeves Banquet Hall: On the intervening night of November 28, 2025, panic spread among guests at Grand Reeves Banquet Hall, Udheywala, after shots were fired inside the premises. Acting swiftly, Police Station Domana registered FIR No. 250/2025 under Section 3/25 Arms Act. A police team led by Inspector Varuneshwar, SHO Domana, apprehended the accused Sunny Sharma, son of Bansi Lal, resident of Marh. Following his arrest and disclosure, police recovered two country-made pistols along with live and fired cartridges. Investigations also revealed his involvement in another case registered at PS Kanachak. Further probe is underway to trace his associates and the source of the weapons.

Arms Recovery During Naka Checking: On the intervening night of November 29, 2025, a naka checking point established at Bhagwati Nagar, Pounichak, by IC PP Pouni Chak, PSI Amreek Singh, intercepted a suspicious individual identified as Jaskirat Singh alias Sanam, son of Inderjeet Singh, resident of Camp Gol Gujral, Jammu. During his personal search, police recovered one country-made pistol and a sharp-edged weapon (Toka). Accordingly, FIR No. 251/2025 under Sections 3/25 and 4/25 Arms Act was registered at Police Station Domana. Investigations revealed that Jaskirat Singh was already involved in two other cases, one registered at PS Domana and another at PS Nowabad.

Senior officers stated that these arrests highlight Jammu Police’s intensified campaign against illegal arms and criminal activities. The recoveries and FIRs mark a significant step in curbing crime in the district, with further investigations aimed at identifying wider linkages and networks.
