New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended heartfelt congratulations to the Indian women’s cricket team for clinching their maiden ICC World Cup title, saying the entire nation is celebrating their remarkable achievement.
Speaking at the Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) in the capital, the Prime Minister began his address by acknowledging the team’s historic feat. “This event is about science, but first, I must speak about India’s spectacular victory in cricket,” he said.
“Every Indian is overjoyed with the success of our women’s cricket team. This is India’s first Women’s World Cup win. I congratulate our champions — we are immensely proud of you. Your triumph will inspire millions of young Indians,” Modi added.
