NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid homage to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his seventh death anniversary, noting that Vajpayee’s legacy continues to inspire the nation in its journey toward a developed and self-reliant India.

Modi wrote on X, “Remembering Atal Ji on his Punya Tithi. His dedication and spirit of service toward the all-round progress of India continue to inspire everyone in building a developed and self-reliant India.”

The Prime Minister, along with several dignitaries including President Droupadi Murmu, Union ministers, and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, visited Vajpayee’s memorial, ‘Sadaiv Atal’, to pay their respects.

A poet and statesman, Vajpayee served as India’s Prime Minister for over six years between 1998 and 2004 and is widely recognized for driving economic reforms that ushered in a period of strong growth.
