VARANASI (Uttar Pradesh): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated four new Vande Bharat Express trains from Banaras railway station.

The newly launched semi-high-speed trains will run on the Banaras–Khajuraho, Lucknow–Saharanpur, Firozpur–Delhi, and Ernakulam–Bengaluru routes.

According to an official statement, these Vande Bharat services will help cut travel time between key destinations, boost regional connectivity, promote tourism, and strengthen economic activity across the nation.

Officials added that the Banaras–Khajuraho route will link major cultural and religious centres such as Varanasi, Prayagraj, and Chitrakoot.
