Dhar/Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said Indian soldiers brought Pakistan “to its knees in the blink of an eye” during Operation Sindoor, highlighting a viral video showing a Pakistani terrorist lamenting his losses. His remarks came after a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) commander acknowledged the impact of India’s strikes on the family of its chief.
Addressing a massive gathering in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh on his 75th birthday, Modi asserted that “New India” fears no nuclear threats and is ready to strike at the enemy’s doorstep.
“Our brave soldiers brought Pakistan to its knees in the blink of an eye. Just yesterday, the country and the world saw a Pakistani terrorist weeping and recounting his plight,” Modi said.
He appeared to be referring to a viral video in which JeM commander Ilyas Kashmiri described how Indian forces targeted their hideout.
Operation Sindoor, carried out in May, involved precision airstrikes on terror hubs deep inside Pakistan and PoK, in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam massacre that claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists. In the video uploaded on Tuesday, Kashmiri admitted that the family of JeM chief Masood Azhar was “torn into pieces” during the strikes on the outfit’s Bahawalpur headquarters on May 7.
“Terrorists from Pakistan desecrated the vermilion of our sisters and daughters. We carried out Operation Sindoor and demolished the terror launch pads,” Modi added.
At the Pahalgam attack, heavily armed Pakistani terrorists targeted tourists, leaving the nation in grief and outrage.
Speaking at the ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day’ celebrations organized by the Centre, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh warned that Operation Sindoor could resume if any future terrorist attack occurs. He also dismissed claims by US President Donald Trump about mediating the Indo-Pak conflict, stating that India’s actions were not influenced by any third-party intervention.
“There are some who ask whether the ceasefire happened due to outside intervention. Let me be clear — our operation against terrorists was not suspended because of anyone,” Singh said.
He further clarified that Pakistan’s Deputy PM and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, had acknowledged India’s rejection of third-party mediation. Singh also referenced the video in which JeM commander Kashmiri admitted to the killing of Azhar’s family members.
Singh emphasized that Operation Sindoor was only “paused” after repeated Pakistani requests for a ceasefire and is not over.
“Today’s India does not take dictation from anyone. India writes its own script. We are ready to shape a world order that the entire world will follow willingly,” the minister said.
