DHAR (MADHYA PRADESH): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday lauded the courage of Indian soldiers, saying they brought Pakistan to its knees “in the blink of an eye” during Operation Sindoor.
He made the remarks while addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone for the Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park in Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh.
Modi also launched the ‘Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar’ and the ‘8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah’ campaigns, aimed at improving women’s health services and promoting nutrition.
This marked Modi’s second visit to the state on his birthday. On the same day in 2022, he had released eight cheetahs from Namibia into Kuno National Park.
Making a strong appeal for swadeshi goods, Modi said, “This is the season of festivals, and we must remember the mantra of Swadeshi and incorporate it into our lives. I request my 140 crore fellow countrymen that whatever you buy, it should be made in India, carrying the sweat of our people and the fragrance of our soil.”
Speaking about the bravery of Indian soldiers during Operation Sindoor, Modi said, “The security of Mother India is our nation’s highest priority. Terrorists who came from Pakistan sought to harm our daughters and sisters. Through Operation Sindoor, we destroyed the terror launch pads. Our brave soldiers brought Pakistan to its knees in the blink of an eye.”
He also recalled the historic events of September 17, 1948, when the Indian Army liberated Hyderabad. “On this day, the nation witnessed the iron will of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The army freed Hyderabad from oppression, safeguarded the rights of its people, and restored India’s pride. We have now begun observing this as Hyderabad Liberation Day, with grand celebrations being held in the city today,” Modi said.
At the Dhar event, the Prime Minister also received greetings from the crowd on his 75th birthday.
