Aurangabad: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of trying to keep the youth distracted by encouraging them to focus on making social media reels instead of addressing key issues such as education, healthcare, and employment.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Bihar’s Aurangabad, Gandhi alleged that Modi was promoting an “addiction” to social media. “Modi wants you to be hooked on making reels for Instagram and Facebook. This is the new intoxication of the 21st century. He wants young people to stay distracted so they don’t question his government on issues like education, health, and jobs,” Gandhi said.

He further alleged that Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were “stealing votes” in Bihar, fearing that the NDA would lose the assembly elections.

Gandhi asserted that if the INDIA bloc comes to power in Bihar, it would form a government representing the extremely backward classes, socially marginalised groups, and Dalits.

Criticising the state’s NDA government, he accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of reducing Bihar’s youth to labourers and said that frequent question paper leaks were benefiting only the wealthy students.
