Police attach illegally acquired property in narcotics case in Srinagar

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir): Police attached the property of a narcotics dealer in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar district, an official statement said on Wednesday. The accused, identified as Kamran Mushtaq Lone, a resident of Maloora, is a narcotics dealer, as per police.

The action came after the police registered a case against the accused under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act on January 30, 2024. “During the investigation of the instant case, the illegal proceeds from his narcotics trade were identified, and a double-storeyed duplex house has been attached with confirmation from the competent authority and administrator, the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators Act (SAFEMA) and NDPSA, New Delhi,” the statement added.
“The inherited immovable property acquired by the accused through illegal means was seized and attached,” it added.
