JAMMU: Police on Friday sealed a bank account and attached a motorcycle belonging to an alleged drug peddler in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district, officials reported.

The action was taken against Vikrant Sharma, a resident of Chabutra Bazar, under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Authorities said a Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle and a bank account containing ₹7.17 lakh were identified as illegally acquired assets. These were found to be disproportionate to Sharma’s known sources of income and were subsequently attached.

Police reiterated their strong commitment to eliminating drug-related activities from the district and vowed to continue taking strict action against those involved in drug peddling.
