Poonch, 09 December 2025: In a sustained effort to curb illegal mining and the unlawful transportation of minerals, Police Station Surankote carried out a decisive operation today, seizing four tippers, a JCB machine and a tractor allegedly involved in the illegal extraction and movement of minerals in the area.
Acting on specific inputs and during routine naka checking, the police team intercepted the vehicles, which were found violating the Mining Act as well as established environmental norms.
Following the seizures, the concerned Mining Department was immediately informed to initiate further legal action as warranted under the law.
District Police Poonch reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the ecological balance of the region and stated that strict action against violators will continue.
