President Droupadi Murmu conveys Janmashtami greetings, stating that “Lord Krishna exemplified the path of fulfilling one’s duties in accordance with righteousness”

New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday extended her greetings on the occasion of Janmashtami.

Sharing a post on X, President Murmu wrote, “Heartfelt greetings on Janmashtami! Lord Shri Krishna has shown humanity the path of fulfilling one’s duties with righteousness while remaining devoted to the welfare of all beings.”

She urged citizens to follow the teachings of Lord Krishna to strengthen both society and the nation.

“On this auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, let us all resolve to follow the path shown by Lord Shri Krishna and work towards building a stronger society and nation,” the post read.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended greetings to the nation, describing Janmashtami as a sacred festival of faith. Sharing an X post, PM Modi wrote, “Heartfelt Janmashtami greetings to all countrymen. May this sacred festival of faith, joy, and enthusiasm infuse new energy and zeal into your lives. Jai Shri Krishna!”

Janmashtami marks the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna.

Ahead of the festival, the President’s Secretariat issued a press release quoting President Murmu: “On the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, a festival filled with joy and enthusiasm, I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to all Indians, both in India and abroad.”

President Murmu further stated, “The life and teachings of Bhagwan Shri Krishna inspire us towards self-development and self-realisation. He enlightened humanity on attaining the ultimate truth by following the path of Dharma. This festival motivates us to embrace the eternal values embodied by Yogeshwar Shri Krishna. On this occasion, let us pledge to follow his teachings and work together to make our society and nation stronger.”
