JAMMU: The Committee on Public Accounts (PAC), chaired by MLA Sham Lal Sharma, visited the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Vijaypur, Jammu, yesterday to review the infrastructural and healthcare facilities available to patients.
Legislators Mubarik Gul, Nazir Ahmad Khan (Gurezi), Balwant Singh Mankotia, Qaysar Jamshaid Lone, Altaf Ahmed Wani (Kaloo), Javid Hassan Baig, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, and Sajad Shaheen also attended the visit.
Executive Director & CEO of AIIMS, Shakti Kumar Gupta, along with Heads of Departments, gave a detailed presentation on ongoing infrastructural and developmental activities, highlighting available healthcare facilities and future plans to improve patient care.




During the meeting, the Committee reviewed AIIMS’ objectives, mission, future targets, and key physical and financial achievements. Members expressed hope that AIIMS would continue providing smooth and efficient services, particularly for patients from remote and underserved areas, and offered suggestions to further strengthen the hospital.
The Chairman appreciated the efforts of Prof. Shakti Kumar Gupta in ensuring high-quality healthcare services and announced plans for a future visit to AIIMS Kashmir to review ongoing construction projects. He assured full support from the PAC to the AIIMS administration.
The Committee also toured several departments and wards, including the Biochemistry Lab, Centre for Advanced Genomics & Precision Medicine, Digital Laboratory, Lecture Hall, OPD block, Department of Nuclear Medicine & Radiotherapy, Brachytherapy, LINAC, Chemotherapy Day Care, CT Simulator, Transfusion Medicine (Blood Centre), Trauma & Emergency, MRI, and the Auditorium.
During these visits, department heads briefed the Committee on operational procedures and facilities available to patients. The PAC also interacted with patient attendants to assess the quality of services and healthcare support being provided.
