Crime Branch Kashmir files chargesheet against police official in alleged job scam case
Srinagar, November 30, 2025: The Crime Branch Kashmir’s Economic Offences Wing has filed a chargesheet against Head Constable Riyaz Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rashid Dar, resident of Naroo Ratnipora, Pulwama, in connection with an alleged government job scam.
The chargesheet was submitted before the Court of Special Mobile Magistrate, Pulwama. The accused, posted in the 21st Battalion IRP (Belt No. 53/IRP, ARP No. 993957), has been booked under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code for cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property.
Investigations revealed that Riyaz Ahmad Dar misused his position as a police official and collected money from several individuals by falsely promising them government jobs. The enquiry was initiated after credible information was received by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Srinagar.
Following a preliminary enquiry, prima facie evidence established fraudulent activity, leading to the filing of the chargesheet. The case underscores the need for vigilance against corruption and misuse of authority within law enforcement agencies.
