Bhubaneswar, November 30: A senior servitor of the Jagannath temple, Gaurahari Pradhan, lodged a complaint at the Singhadwar police station against influencer Shubhankar Mishra, accusing him of misleading devotees through social media content.
Pradhan alleged that Mishra claimed couples visiting the temple before marriage would not be able to wed, citing a supposed “Radha Rani’s curse.” The remarks triggered outrage among devotees and temple authorities, who said such statements misrepresent traditions and hurt public sentiments.
Superintendent of Police Prateek Singh confirmed that the complaint has been received and assured that all audio and video materials will be examined. Legal opinion will be sought, and the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) will be consulted before further action is taken.
Temple authorities emphasized that misinformation about the Srimandir cannot be tolerated, as it undermines faith and misguides the public. The matter is under investigation, and strict measures are expected following the inquiry.
