New Delhi, Dec 5: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday said that the collaboration between India and Russia is not aimed against any country, but is intended to safeguard the national interests of both sides.
Speaking during his visit to Delhi, President Putin underlined that the partnership between the two nations is rooted in mutual respect and shared priorities. He noted that cooperation in areas such as defence, energy, and technology reflects a commitment to strengthening bilateral ties while maintaining regional stability.
Putin emphasised that the relationship is guided by the principle of strategic autonomy, allowing both countries to pursue their national interests without being drawn into external rivalries. He added that India and Russia’s collaboration continues to serve as a pillar of trust and long‑standing friendship.
Officials said the remarks highlight Moscow’s focus on reinforcing ties with New Delhi at a time of shifting global dynamics. The statement also underscores India’s position of engaging with partners on the basis of mutual benefit and respect for sovereignty.
