New Delhi, Nov 24: Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi has moved a petition seeking transfer of the CBI and ED cases linked to the alleged land-for-jobs scam from the present trial court to another court in Delhi. She alleged that the current court has shown bias and that a fair hearing would not be possible if the cases continue there.

Rabri Devi, who is an accused along with several family members, including former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and their son Tejashwi Yadav, claimed in her application that certain observations made during recent hearings have shaken her confidence in the impartiality of the proceedings. Her plea argues that justice must not only be done but must also appear to be done, especially in politically sensitive cases.

The petition seeks reassignment of the trial to another special court dealing with CBI and ED matters, asserting that a neutral forum is essential to ensure a fair judicial process. The request comes at a time when both agencies are continuing their investigations and filing supplementary material in the case.

The transfer plea is expected to be heard in the coming days, after which the court will decide whether to seek responses from the investigating agencies or to hear arguments on maintainability first.
