Nalanda (Bihar): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of lacking the courage to confront former US President Donald Trump over his repeated claims that the United States intervened to stop the India-Pakistan conflict.

Speaking at a poll rally in Nalanda, Gandhi alleged that Bihar has become known for “paper leaks and crumbling health infrastructure.”

“The US President has said several times that it was because of him the conflict between India and Pakistan stopped. But our Prime Minister does not have the courage to question him,” Gandhi said.

Targeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his remark that “there is no land available in Bihar,” Gandhi alleged that the state government had allotted land to an industrial house “at throwaway prices.”

He further accused the ruling NDA of forming the government through “vote theft” in the last Lok Sabha elections and said the alliance, along with the Prime Minister, is “determined to destroy the Constitution framed by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.”

Promising inclusive governance, Gandhi said that if the INDIA bloc comes to power in Bihar, it will form a government representing farmers, labourers, Dalits, and weaker sections of society.

“The world’s best university will also be established in Nalanda if the INDIA bloc is voted to power,” he added.
