Srinagar : Police on Wednesday conducted raids at multiple locations across Srinagar district as part of an ongoing drive to dismantle the terror network in Jammu and Kashmir.

“In its sustained efforts to dismantle the terror ecosystem and curb unlawful activities, Srinagar Police carried out extensive raids at several sites across the city,” a police spokesperson said.

The searches were conducted at the residences of terror associates and overground workers (OGWs) linked to banned terrorist organisations, in connection with ongoing cases registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

According to police, the coordinated operations targeted individuals suspected of facilitating, aiding, or abetting terror-related activities. The raids were conducted following due legal procedures, in the presence of executive magistrates and independent witnesses, and under the supervision of senior police officers.

“The objective was to recover incriminating material — including documents, digital devices, and other evidence — relevant to ongoing investigations. These operations also form part of a broader intelligence effort to pre-empt and disrupt any conspiracies or terror plans that may threaten public peace and national security,” the spokesperson added.
