The Crime Branch Kashmir has filed a chargesheet against three persons, including the complainant himself, in connection with a fake Railway recruitment scam, officials said on Tuesday. The investigation revealed that the accused were involved in misleading job aspirants by promising appointments in the Railways in exchange for money.
According to officials, the case was initially registered following a complaint alleging cheating and fraud on the pretext of providing government jobs. During the course of investigation, the Crime Branch found that the complainant was also an active participant in the scam and had colluded with others to dupe innocent candidates.
The accused allegedly collected large sums of money from job seekers by projecting false assurances of selection letters and appointments in the Railways. However, no such recruitment process was underway, and the documents shown to victims were found to be fake.
After completing the investigation, the Crime Branch produced the chargesheet before the competent court, seeking legal action against all those involved. Officials said further proceedings in the case will now be taken up by the court in accordance with law.
The Crime Branch has once again advised the public to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to fraudulent job offers, urging aspirants to verify recruitment notices only through official government channels.
