DC Rajouri inaugurates Capacity Building Workshop on IT-driven MGNREGA initiatives

RAJOURI: To strengthen transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the implementation of MGNREGA, the District Administration Rajouri, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, today inaugurated a Capacity Building Workshop focused on key IT-based initiatives, including Yuktdhara (GIS-based planning), NMMS eKYC for real-time attendance, and eMB (electronic Measurement Book) for digital monitoring and measurement of works.

Organised by the Rural Development Department (RDD) Rajouri, the workshop aimed to equip field functionaries and Panchayat-level staff with the technical expertise required to effectively use these digital tools for improved planning, execution, and monitoring of MGNREGA projects.

Addressing the participants, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the pivotal role of technology in ensuring data-driven and sustainable rural development. He emphasized that the Yuktdhara platform enables scientific and resource-based planning at the Gram Panchayat level, thereby ensuring the optimal utilisation of available resources.

He also underscored the significance of the National Mobile Monitoring System (NMMS), particularly its eKYC-enabled attendance feature, which facilitates real-time monitoring and enhances transparency in recording worker attendance. Similarly, he noted that eMB ensures digital measurement of works and timely updates of project progress on the ground.

“Ground-level functionaries form the backbone of the MGNREGA framework. By equipping them with modern digital tools and updated knowledge, we are enabling faster, more transparent, and accountable implementation of rural development initiatives,” the Deputy Commissioner remarked.

The workshop also featured practical demonstrations on Yuktdhara, NMMS, and eMB, providing participants with hands-on exposure to the systems.

Officials from the Rural Development Department, Panchayat Secretaries, Technical Assistants, and field staff attended the session and actively engaged in interactive discussions.
