RAJOURI: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, today chaired a meeting at the DC Office Conference Hall to review and finalize Phase-II data of the 11th Agricultural Census. He also assessed the district’s disaster preparedness and damage reports submitted by various tehsils.
The Deputy Commissioner underscored the need for accurate and error-free Girdawari entries, directing the Agriculture Department to thoroughly cross-check reports submitted by revenue officials to ensure credibility of data. To enhance monitoring, he ordered joint inspections by Agriculture and Revenue officials, while Tehsildars were instructed to furnish detailed reports from their respective areas without delay.
Taking strict note of lapses in Phase-I, the DC ordered disciplinary proceedings against officials responsible for wrong entries and directed that adverse remarks be recorded in their service books.
Highlighting the importance of transparency and accountability, he said precise agricultural data is crucial for effective planning, policymaking, and implementation of farmer welfare schemes.
The meeting was attended by ACR Rajouri Mohd Jahangir Khan, District Statistics & Evaluation Officer Sandeep Sharma, Chief Agriculture Officer, and all Tehsildars of the district.
