RAJOURI, Nov 29: District Magistrate Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, has issued a significant security directive mandating the compulsory disclosure of details for all tenants and hotel guests across the district. The order follows recommendations from Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajouri, Randeep Kumar, who highlighted the urgent need for verification in view of prevailing security concerns.
Under the order, all landlords, property owners, business operators, and managers of commercial establishments must verify and disclose the details of tenants, workers, or PG occupants before renting out properties. This step is aimed at ensuring accountability and preventing the misuse of accommodations by antisocial or suspicious elements.
The order requires property owners to submit a detailed tenant declaration using the prescribed form within three days of issuance. The form must be signed by both the property owner and the tenant and submitted to the concerned Station House Officer (SHO), either in person or via registered post.
Owners who had already let out their premises before the order was issued must provide tenant details to the concerned SHO within two days. Those accommodating jhuggi dwellers are also required to disclose information in the prescribed format.
SHOs across the district will maintain a separate register to record all tenant and guest details. Anyone found violating the order will be liable for action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. SSP Rajouri, Randeep Kumar, has been tasked with ensuring strict compliance and enforcement throughout the district.
