Rajouri Nov 27: Rajouri district hosted the grand finale of the Police Martyrs Cricket Tournament at District Police Lines (DPL) Rajouri on November 27, 2025. The event was organized to honour the supreme sacrifices of Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
The final match was contested between Tahir Ali Cricket Club and Ahsan Warriors, with Tahir Ali Cricket Club clinching the championship title. Ahsan Warriors finished as runner-up after a spirited performance that drew appreciation from the audience.
The closing ceremony was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma (IAS) and Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri Gaurav Sikarwar (IPS). Both dignitaries felicitated the winning and runner-up teams, commending their sportsmanship and dedication.
Addressing the gathering, DC Abhishek Sharma emphasized that the tournament was not only a sporting event but also a tribute to the courage and commitment of police martyrs. SSP Gaurav Sikarwar highlighted that such initiatives inspire the younger generation to uphold discipline, unity, and service to the nation.
The Police Martyrs Cricket Tournament, which began on November 19, 2025, witnessed enthusiastic participation from teams across the district. The grand finale concluded with prize distribution and expressions of gratitude to families of martyrs, reinforcing the message of respect, remembrance, and community solidarity.
