Rajouri, November 29 — District Magistrate Abhishek Sharma has issued an important security-related order mandating compulsory disclosure of details of tenants and hotel guests across Rajouri district.
The directive, issued under Section 144 CrPC, requires all landlords, property owners, business owners, and hotel or guest house operators to furnish details of tenants and guests to the nearest police station in the prescribed format. The order was passed after the Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajouri, apprised the District Magistrate of the urgent need for verification in view of prevailing security concerns.
According to the order, landlords must submit a detailed declaration of their tenants within three days of renting out property, while hotel and guest house owners must maintain and share updated records of guests staying at their establishments. Police have been instructed to monitor compliance and conduct random checks.
District Magistrate Abhishek Sharma emphasised that the measure is aimed at strengthening public safety, accountability, and preventing misuse of rented accommodations or hotels by anti-social elements. He urged citizens and business owners to cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies.
Authorities reiterated that non-compliance will invite strict legal action, and appealed to the public to remain vigilant and support the administration in maintaining peace and security in the district.
