RAJOURI: The 13th day of the ongoing Sewa Parv was observed across Rajouri district with a variety of initiatives focused on social welfare, health, cleanliness, and community empowerment.
Under ATMA, an awareness programme was held at the Sericulture Complex, Thudi, where participants learned about sericulture practices. The event also featured a plantation drive and a cleanliness campaign, emphasizing environmental conservation and sustainable livelihoods.
The Labour Department organised an interactive session on labour welfare schemes at Panorama Public School, Rajouri, while the Animal Husbandry Department conducted a cleanliness drive at the VAS office, Teryath, contributing to the Swachh Bharat Mission.
At GDC Sunderbani, a documentary on Mahatma Gandhi’s life and philosophy inspired participants to follow the Gandhian principles of truth, non-violence, and service to humanity.
GDC Nowshera, in collaboration with the Sub District Hospital, hosted a workshop on Women’s Health and Hygiene for around 100 girl students. Counsellor Anshu Sharma discussed PCOD, menstrual hygiene, and genital infections, while faculty members addressed menstrual taboos, hygiene practices, and women empowerment.
In Panchayat Patrara, Block Sunderbani, a special awareness drive highlighted cattle dung management and the benefits of vermi-composting, promoting eco-friendly agricultural practices.
Meanwhile, GDC Thanamandi, in partnership with 61 RR, organized an awareness rally and the Late Harinder Singh Rawat Memorial Cricket Tournament under the Nasha Mukta Bharat Abhiyan, sending a strong anti-substance abuse message. Govt. PG College Rajouri conducted a workshop on women’s health and hygiene, distributing health supplements to 300 girls.
The diverse activities across Rajouri on the 13th day of Sewa Parv reinforced collective responsibility, sustainable development, and community welfare, bringing citizens closer to a cleaner, healthier, and empowered society.
