Police in Rajouri have registered an FIR against passenger vehicle operators found overloading commuters in violation of the Motor Vehicles Act. The action was taken during routine checking aimed at ensuring passenger safety and preventing unsafe transport practices.
According to officials, the vehicles were carrying passengers beyond the permissible limit, posing a serious risk to public safety. The concerned police station initiated legal proceedings after documenting the violations.
Police have reiterated that strict action will continue against operators who compromise safety norms, and urged transporters to adhere to the Motor Vehicles Act to avoid legal consequences.
