Rajouri Police Register FIR After Narcotics Recovery in Lamberi

Rajouri, December 4 — A police team from Police Station Nowshera, during routine naka checking at Lamberi, apprehended a suspected drug peddler and recovered 4 grams of heroin-like narcotic substance from his possession. The operation was part of ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking in the district.

The accused has been identified as Mohd Imran Chaudhary, son of Shafiq Ahmed, resident of Fatehpur Rajouri. He was taken into custody immediately after the recovery was made.

In this connection, a case FIR No. 182/2025 under Sections 8/21/22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Police Station Nowshera. The seized material has been sent for forensic examination to confirm its nature.

Police officials stated that further investigation is underway to trace the source of the contraband and identify others involved in the network. Authorities emphasized that strict action will be taken against individuals engaged in drug peddling and related activities.

Rajouri Police reiterated their commitment to intensifying operations against narcotics and urged the public to cooperate by reporting suspicious activities. They highlighted that community support is vital in combating the menace of drugs and protecting youth from addiction.

The arrest underscores the district administration’s zero-tolerance approach towards drug trafficking and reflects ongoing enforcement measures to safeguard public health and safety.
