Rajouri Police Seize 10 Vehicles in Mining Crackdown

Rajouri, December 10 — Continuing its sustained drive against illegal mining activities, Rajouri Police seized ten vehicles found engaged in the unlawful extraction and transportation of minerals across different locations in the district. The enforcement action also resulted in the realisation of fines amounting to ₹1,60,000 from the violators.

Police teams intercepted the vehicles during routine checks and confirmed their involvement in illegal mining operations. Details of the seized vehicles and drivers are as follows:

1. Vehicle No: JK11-6373 (Tipper), driven by Arshad Mehmood, son of Mir Hussain, resident of Nagrota Rajouri.

2. Vehicle No: JK12A-6297 (Dumper), driven by Dheeraj Sharma, son of Satpal Sharma, resident of Potha Rajouri.

3. Vehicle No: JK11A-2879 (Tipper), driven by Waseem Ahmed, son of Munir Hussain, resident of Nagrota Rajouri.

4. Vehicle No: JK14F-1931 (Mahindra 407), driven by Nardev Singh, son of Des Raj, resident of Ram Nagar Udhampur.

5. Vehicle No: JK02AE-1525 (Tipper), driven by Parvez Ahmed, son of Mohd Yaqoob, resident of Dhanor Jarallan Rajouri.

6. Vehicle No: JK02CU-2824 (Dumper), driven by Imran Choudhary, son of Mohd Nazir, resident of Kurhad Rajouri.

7. Vehicle No: JK02CQ-8812 (Dumper), driven by Kala Khan, son of Bhag Din, resident of Saranoo Rajouri.

8. Vehicle No: JK11H-9575 (407), driven by Mohd Tariq, son of Mohd Aslam, resident of Thanamang, Tehsil Darhal, District Rajouri.

9. Vehicle No: JK11B-2717 (Tipper), driven by Umar Farooq, son of Tariq Hussain, resident of Rajouri.

10. Vehicle No: JK20-0849 (Tipper), driven by Sadaqat Ali, son of Karam Din, resident of Aitti Rajouri.

All vehicles have been seized and further legal proceedings have been initiated in accordance with the law. Police officials reiterated that strict action will continue against those involved in illegal mining, underscoring the administration’s commitment to protecting natural resources and ensuring lawful practices in the district.

Rajouri Police emphasized that the campaign against illegal mining will remain a priority, with regular checks and enforcement measures aimed at curbing the menace and safeguarding community interests.
