Rajouri: VC, Officials Lead School Visits; Dignitaries Grace Festival

As part of the ongoing 22nd Foundation Day celebrations of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, on Saturday visited various Schools and Departments of the University as per the approved schedule.

On December 13, 2025, the Vice-Chancellor toured the School of Biosciences and Biotechnology, Centre for Hospitality and Tourism Management, Department of Arabic, Department of Urdu, Department of Islamic Studies, School of Engineering and Technology, University Polytechnic and the Department of Physics. During the visits, Prof. Iqbal interacted with students, faculty members and non-teaching staff, reviewed academic and infrastructural facilities and extended his greetings to the university fraternity on the occasion of the Foundation Day.

Meanwhile, Registrar BGSBU Abhishek Sharma, IAS, along with senior district officials including DIG Rajouri–Poonch Range Tejinder Singh, IPS, and SSP Rajouri Gaurav Sikarwar, IPS, visited the Food and Music Festival organised as part of the Foundation Day celebrations.

The festival was creatively curated by students of B.Voc, Journalism and Mass Communication, DyD and MBA (Hospitality and Tourism Management). The dignitaries appreciated the innovative food stalls, particularly those showcasing local cuisine, which highlighted the students’ culinary skills and entrepreneurial spirit. They also praised the vibrant cultural performances presented during the programme.

The officials commended the students for their creativity, coordination and enthusiastic participation, noting that their efforts significantly enhanced the festive spirit of the 22nd Foundation Day celebrations of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University.
