RAMBAN: The District Administration Ramban, in collaboration with the Mahila Disaster Management Committee (MDMC), the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), organized a Disaster Awareness and Preparedness Programme at Government Higher Secondary School, Ramban.
The programme aimed to equip both boys and girls with essential life-saving skills and practical knowledge to respond effectively during emergencies. The MDMC Ramban highlighted that youth and women are the backbone of any resilient community, and their proactive involvement is crucial in strengthening local disaster response systems.
Students were provided hands-on training in improvisational rescue techniques—such as using everyday household items like T-shirts and blankets to create makeshift stretchers. The session also included demonstrations on vital first aid and emergency response procedures, including handling cardiac arrest, femur fractures, and other critical situations.
Given Ramban’s vulnerability to natural disasters, such initiatives are vital in promoting community awareness and preparedness, enabling timely and coordinated action during crises. The MDMC Ramban extended gratitude to the NDRF and SDRF teams for their active participation and continued support in fostering a culture of safety and resilience in the district.
