New Delhi: As the second round of the 2025–26 Ranji Trophy begins on Saturday, all eyes will be on star India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who is set to represent Saurashtra in their Elite Group B clash against Madhya Pradesh at Rajkot. His participation makes him one of the marquee Indian players to watch in the upcoming round of matches.
At the Niranjan Shah Stadium, spin played a decisive role in the previous game, with 31 of the 35 wickets falling to spinners in a drawn encounter that earned Saurashtra three points on a first-innings lead. Jadeja, who recently featured in India’s 2-0 Test series win over the West Indies, was rested for the ongoing ODI series in Australia and will now return to domestic action to bolster Saurashtra’s lineup.
He will team up with fellow left-arm spinner Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, who impressed in the previous match with a 10-wicket haul (10/203) against Karnataka. The experienced pair will look to strengthen Saurashtra’s spin-heavy attack as they aim to extend their strong start to the season.
Another high-profile clash this round will see Bengal take on Gujarat at Eden Gardens, where India stars Mohammed Shami, Akash Deep, and Abhimanyu Easwaran will be in action. Shami, fresh off a seven-wicket match haul against Uttarakhand, will look to continue his fine form against Gujarat’s potent bowling unit.
In all, 19 matches will be played across India in the Elite and Plate Divisions this round. Mumbai, buoyed by an away win over Jammu & Kashmir in Srinagar, will host Chhattisgarh at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy, BKC, while defending champions Vidarbha face Jharkhand at the VCA Stadium, Nagpur.
Fans can catch live action from select games: the Bengal vs Gujarat encounter will be televised on Star Sports Khel and streamed on JioHotstar, while the Saurashtra vs Madhya Pradesh and Mumbai vs Chhattisgarh matches will be available via live streaming. Other fixtures can be followed through live score updates on bcci.tv.
