Realme Teams Up With Ricoh To Elevate Smartphone Photography With Upcoming GT 8 Pro

Realme is stepping into the premium camera space with a major new collaboration — the company has partnered with Japanese imaging brand Ricoh for its upcoming GT 8 Pro flagship, set to launch soon.

The announcement marks a big shift for Realme, which has now joined the growing list of smartphone makers collaborating with established camera brands — much like Xiaomi’s Leica, Oppo’s Hasselblad, and Vivo’s Zeiss partnerships. According to Realme, this collaboration has been four years in the making, and the GT 8 Pro will be the first phone to feature the results of this long-term effort.

Realme × Ricoh: A Promising New Chapter

Partnering with a legacy camera maker brings both excitement and expectations. Realme’s GT series has always impressed with high-end hardware, but its camera performance has often lagged behind rivals. With Ricoh on board, Realme aims to change that — focusing on enhanced street photography, improved telephoto lenses, and sharper portrait shots.

Ricoh is expected to contribute its signature filters, tuned image processing, and refinements to the camera interface, promising a more polished and professional photography experience.

This approach mirrors what other brands achieved after similar partnerships — Xiaomi’s leap with Leica and Vivo’s gains with Zeiss demonstrate how strategic collaborations can redefine image quality on smartphones.

What’s Next

Realme will officially unveil more details about the Ricoh partnership — including how the two brands are integrating technology and design philosophies — on October 14, 2025.

The GT 8 Pro is also expected to be one of the first phones powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and will likely debut in India in the coming months.

This collaboration could mark a turning point for Realme’s camera ambitions — and we’re eager to see if Ricoh can help the GT 8 Pro capture the spotlight in the premium segment.
