Jammu: In a move to combat narcotic addiction, police in Reasi district detained 10 notorious drug users on Saturday, officials said.
The individuals have been booked under Sections 129 and 170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
“Today, police detained and booked ten habitual drug users under the relevant legal provisions to maintain public order and prevent the spread of narcotic addiction in the district,” officials stated.
The detainees include Chetan Pandey, Ankush Manhas, Vavik Raina, Mohammad Tahir, Manik Sharma, Sudesh Kumar, Gautam Singh, Sanjay Kumar, Haroon Singh, and Aakash Pandey — all residents of Reasi.
Among them, three habitual offenders — Gautam Singh, Sanjay Kumar, and Aakash Pandey — have been sent to Sub-Jail Reasi by order of the Executive Magistrate for 7, 15, and 10 days respectively.
